Why come to the market?
Buying local benefits everybody in our community.

First, it supports the growers and producers in our community, who are often our friends, families, and neighbors.  Spending your money locally supports the Wayne area economy and improves the lives of people you know.


Second, local food is fresh. What you buy at the farmers' market is fresh, often organic, and it hasn't traveled miles and miles to end up on your table.  Local food is healthy because it is usually picked or made right before you buy it, and it isn't covered in sprays and preservatives to keep it looking fresh as it travels across the country.  Local food tastes better, and is better for you and your family.

Buying local is enjoyable and informational.  As you explore the market, you will be able to connect with the people who are growing your food, meet your neighbors, and make new friends.  This is a perfect opportunity to learn about what you eat, or just enjoy beautiful downtown Wayne.  Pick up information, brochures, and new gardening ideas at the information table.  

In short, you should come to the market because it is good for you, good for the farmer, and good for the community!

Note: Please take care not to park in the General Store's parking area in front or behind the store.  And consider biking, walking, boating, or sharing a ride to the market!  Thank you!
